Okay, so here I am at Toy Fair in New York looking for kid's music which is a genre I review and I find myself in the "dolls": aisle in front of a small booth selling this line of soft dolls for girls. This specific one caught my eye because I have a good friend who plays women's basketball and now has a 7-year old who wants to follow in mom's footsteps.
After looking closer at the doll I could see it was well made and because it's soft is pliable and something the daughter could take to sleep with her and not have any hard or sharp areas for mom to be concerned with. The other thing I liked is that this doll is "cute" but not "pretty" which mean at least in my opinion that it gives image enhancement to any young girl. The basketball uniform that the doll is wearing can be removed. She has heart-covered under shorts under the gym trunks. And the really cool thing is that she has a backpack, which holds a mini rubber basketball!
The woman manning the booth is the designer and really seems to care about a quality product. The doll will be a birthday gift for my friend's daughter in a few months but I already know she is going to love it and what a better way to share her mom's interest in the sport!
There are other designs for other sports and this line also has ethnic dolls too.
I hope you found this review useful and helpful.
