I really like these dolls. Super cute, and soft, huggable and not too large. I ordered an Asian doll for my Japanese friend's daughter and a black one for my African American friend's daughter. I recommend. (Tip: I think that shipping for one doll, from Kaplan, is about $10. Free shipping on two dolls!)

We bought this doll for our adopted Chinese daughter. It is soft and lovable! She loves to hug on it and carry it around. The quality is good.

Our 6 months old Japanese baby squealed with excitement when she received this as a Christmas present. My mother thought I had sent our daughter's picture in to have the doll made in her likeness. I'm guessing our baby's immediate positive reaction was for the fact she was looking at a face that was similar to hers you know how babies like looking in the mirror at themselves. She immediately grabbed onto the plush material of the doll's outfit and discovered the crackling sound in the arms and the baby rattle attached to the right hand. The product description stated "Doll has an animal shaped rattle in one hand and a crackle sound in the other"; however, this particular "model" we received is holding a heart shaped rattle with 3 musical notes embroidered on it and both arms have the crackle sound. The smiles our daughter had as she looked at her new "sister" was so heartwarming. She even tried to kiss her face aka gnaw at it. I was happy to find a doll that didn't warn me that it was for 3yrs and older a soft-bodied doll that our baby was safe to enjoy.
