My girls received both the swimming doll and the soccer doll as gifts and they were a huge hit in our house -the dolls definitely got them "re-interested" in each of the sports and the dolls have made it to all the Spring soccer games and now Suzi has been going to the pool for swim team practice -I love that when they pretend play with these dolls it is all about the sports, etc. instead of fashion, high school, etc. that some of our dolls seem to encourage. This is definitely a great gift for girls!!!

My daughter, age 6, loves these dolls! She is a gymnast herself and so was given the gymnastics girl for her birthday. Since then she has decided that she must have them all so they don't get lonely! She now has the basketball doll as well and we will definitely get her another one this Christmas. They are really well made dolls and my daughter wants to take them everywhere with her. This is new for us because she was never a doll type of kid before this. She loves to flip her gymnastics girl around and make her do flips and get both of her girls together to have dance offs and tea parties. She also loves to fill their backpacks with whatever she can stuff into them, so they have something to play with on long trips. Best of all, she loves to take them to bed at night because they're so cuddly!

Not every girl wants to be a princess or a fashion model--it's refreshing to see dolls focussed on sports and health! My daughter has two Go Go Sports Girls--Suzi (Swimmer Girl) and Brooke (Golfer Girl) Go! Go! Sports Girl Golfer Girl Brooke and she loves them. I like the dolls because they're simple, portable, huggable and come with a great message. Stitched on Swimmer Girl's belly: "Dream big--swim fast." That says it all. Recommended for aspiring athletes and princesses alike.

I gave Suzi the Swimmer Girl to my five year old niece, and she loves it! (I also gave Cassie the Soccer Girl doll to my eight year old niece so they wouldn't fight over them.) Suzi the Swimmer Girl is super-cute, especially the goggles and flip-flops. Both dolls are of excellent quality, and the "dream big and go for it" message is great for young girls.

I got this one in Homegoods. That store is such a hit or miss type of store. I only got it because my baby son loves to chew our throw pillows (chanille) and the hair (yarn) of tis doll is the same color and texture. I figured that the doll is easier to carry around than a throw pillow. When my 7 year old daughter saw the doll she told me that she was ugly and boring. There is nothing you can really do with it no clothes, no accessories, she's not posable. I get that people feel that it promotes girls playing sport, but really, how does it promote it? By having something cliche such as "dream big" embroidered on it? I have to admit I'm not a fan of (premade) cloth dolls. They bore me. I do however sew and have made numerous dolls for my daughter over the years. Habba doll Lucas that I recently bought is a cut above the Go Go Sports Girl doll. He is substantial (he is filled with beans and weighs more). He is adorable. He comes with a mouse who can hide in his pocket. He looks like he has personality. He's not pretending to be anything other than what he is a cloth doll. As a feminst I think there is a middle ground between barbies and go go sports girls, and not every product that slaps "girl power" message is worth the buy. This doll has an ugly leotard sewing on it (can't be taken off). Both her and the dancer have little backpacks on their backs with little towel. If they chose a tennis girl with the racket and ball, or soccer girl with soccer ball, I'd see the fun. But a "swimmer" doll that can't be submerged in water (since she's cloth) is so dumb...Seriously I'm angry at myself for spending fourteen dollars because you guessed it my son still prefers a throw pillow...Sigh...
