I bought this doll for my son who just turned 2, to help with his potty training.
As a doll, I would probably give it 4 stars. It's well made & doesn't "leak" too soon (if you follow directions properly) like I remember some of my drink & wet dolls doing as a child. It's a nice added touch that the eyes open & close when the doll is sitting up or laying down. And it's hard to find an anatomically correct boy doll, so that was a big plus.
Now for the cons... This is not good as a potty training doll.
1) As others have pointed out, it looks like a baby. As soon as I gave it to my son, he said "Baby!". When you're trying to teach your child he's a "Big Boy", it's hard to use a baby as an example. It also comes with a pacifier & bottle. Again BABY items.
2) I didn't know until reading the directions that came with the doll, but you have to lay it down to squirt the water into it's mouth or else it will leak. This further reinforced "baby" in my son's mind, since he started to cradle it more like a baby in order to feed it.
3) The box for this boy doll is otherwise completely girly. It has lots of pink writing on it & all the pictures are of a girl, the girl version of the doll, & the girl doll's accessories. My husband took one look at it & was upset I'd bought it for our son.
4) Based on the description I had expected softer/more pliable plastic than what the doll is like. That wasn't a deal-breaker for me, but I was a little disappointed.
5) I knew what I was buying when I bought it, but for the record.... I think the doll is overpriced for what you get. The price I paid on Amazon was the same as everywhere else I looked, so that isn't the issue. But the doll could have at least come with PANTS or something!! Again, that would help with potty training & teaching your child to pull down their pants. Besides, what child doesn't like to dress & undress their dolls? And I'm sure that extra bit of clothing wouldn't cost much for the manufacturer.
So in summary, I've rated the doll low because of the potty-training aspects of it. I bought this instead of Potty Scotty because I'd had concerns about the quality of those dolls, but now I'm wondering if I should have gone with one of those instead...

My grandson loves this. My mother got a doll like this for my son when he was in his two's, and I think that is why he turned out to be such a good father.Best Deals for Corolle Les Classiques Special Feature 14" Baby Doll (Paul
I bought this doll for my 13 month old nephew who is going to be a big brother soon. I was afraid he'd ignore it, but the doll actually caught his attention very quickly. He drags it around by its hand, although we're trying to teach him to be gentle with the baby. Within 5 minutes of getting the doll, he was trying to feed the baby with the bottle without us even showing him how. He's a smart guy.My nephew is younger than the suggested age for the doll, so we detached the pacifier. There don't seem to be any other small parts. The pacifier isn't even that small, but better safe than sorry. The doll is anatomically correct and very cute. The eyes open and close, though thanks to my nephew's penchant for poking eyeballs, one eye hasn't worked properly since he first got his little hands on it.
Very happy with the buy, and hoping that it'll help with potty training when that day comes.
