I got this for my 7 year old niece for Christmas she is currently obsessed with American Girl dolls. She loves it and says it fits perfectly on her doll! I can't say yet how durable it is, seeing as how she's only had it for a few months, but I would imagine it will at least last until she is no longer into American Girl dolls. And perhaps she'll pass it down to her cousins it's nice that it's fairly gender neutral. It's obviously for a doll, but it's not overly girly, so could be used for a boy on a stuffed animal or something like that.
