This baby makes a sucking sound when the pacifier is attached (via a magnet), it giggles when you press the toe and says "momma" when you press it's hand. The voice slightly scares my daughter, so that one isn't used often. The pacifier also covers up most of the face when it is attached. I'm constantly worried we are going to lose it since it isn't attached.Overall, it's a nice doll and Amazon's price was much less than other sites.

We love Stella in our house. My daughter got talking Stella for her first birthday from Grammy. This doll goes and does everything with my girlie. We have some of her accessoriesdiaper bag, bottles to "suck", diapers, additional food and change of clothes. My daughter is now 18 months and we are on our 2nd Stellafirst one did not survive the washing machine. I kept her clean by spot cleaning her hands, feet and headoh and belly, our Stella lives naked! (Not sure why, but...hey?!?) after a rainy, dirty 4th of July, she needed washed, big time and spot cleaning wouldn't do it. I called Manhattan Toys, but they didn't know how to wash Stella. Huh? The company that makes her doesn't know how to keep her clean?! Anyways, long story short, we had a silent Stella after a machine was and my girl was not happy. Grammy wasted no time and my cutie had a Stella arrive yesterday. She's so happy and so am I. We loved this toy for about a year and then it broke. The pacifier sound is faulty and worked at first but then stopped working. We tried to exchange it at a store and out of 5 different dolls we only found 1 that worked well like ours did at first. Many of the new ones we tried to exchange it for only occasionally worked or had to be placed in a very specific way. It seems this doll has something wrong with the pacifier electronics. Once your child loves it, it is hard to explain broken to a 1 year old. I would think it was a fluke if I didn't find those 5 other dolls at the toy store. my daughter loves her baby! It's soft, and very well made. The best part is the pacifier that is a magnet. She thinks its so funny giving her baby her binkie. The noises I could do without, the laugh and mama are a little annoying, but it does not have to have batteries in it to function. Overall, we really like this doll though, and it is such a nice alternative to the cheap rubber and plastic ones they sell at Walmart.
