This doll is more beautiful than it appears on Amazon. It is well made, very pretty and a beautiful addition to any childs' collection. I would not recommend this doll to a collector to leave in box since the packaging is rather bulky, the doll is posed awkwardly, and the box is not very attractive. Out of the box play is great, except for the fact that I have to agree with other reviewers about the less than ideal quality of her hair (it does tangle very easily).

This doll arrived today,she is beautiful,everything BUT the hair fiber,it is like cotton and comes out as you brush it,it tangles instantly!!!Madame Alexander has lowered it quality hair standards to cheap fluff stuff

Best Deals for Alexander Dolls 18" Disney Belle

I just opened the box of Belle and Ariel today from Amazon to make sure it would be a good Christmas present for my 5 YO daughter. These dolls are BEAUTIFUL and a steal compared to American Girl. She already has an AG doll, and while other reviewers complained about the hair on these disney dolls, it is exactly the same as the AG doll for a fraction of the price. The classic Madame Alexander "sissy" face is evident in these dolls I'm so excited for Santa to come visit our house this year for Christmas!

My main consideration when choosing a doll was if the hair was going to end up a nappy mess or rather if it could be combed. Belle has curly hair and therefore gets very nappy within a few days even.

Otherwise the doll is nice. The body from the chest through tummy is soft and the arms and legs have nice rotating sockets.

My daughter loves it even with the hair, but then again she is 4...

Probably wouldn't buys it again. Not worth the money.

This doll is like the American girl dolls except she has a vinyl chest plate.I prefer this because all clothes look good on her. And she has the most adorable face. I was not really happy with her hair though. It was frizzy and almost matted at the ends. However after I trimmed the ends it looks good but I don't think it would stand up to much brushing or styling like the American Girl dolls. If you're looking for a less expensive alternative to and AG doll, this is it.
