Like many other Monster High Collectors, I was excited about this new Create-A-Monster set and couldn't wait for it to be released. I think a Blob girl is an especially clever addition the Blob is a classic movie monster that could have easily been overlooked.

Blob Girl

The head and body of Blob girl is translucent dark pink with silver micro glitter mixed and encased in the body parts. She comes with a hard plastic wig that easily slips onto her head but fits quite snuggly. The wig is a slightly darker pink than her body and is styled to look like a chin length flip that is melting from the top. The only real blobby part of her besides her coloring and wig is her forearms that have some small globules on them. The Blob girl has bright orange eyes and she is wearing pink and blue eye shadow and cherry red lipstick. She is wearing a cute short sleeved mini dress that is light blue with a hot pink blob pattern. Her high heeled shoes are great they are hot pink and continue the melting blob motif. The Blob girl is my favorite of the two dolls.

Ice Girl

First I will mention something about the Ice Girl that some collectors might find troublesome. Her torso, upper arms and thighs are completely transparent blue and show all of the manufacturing mechanics while her lower legs, forearms and hands are a different shade of translucent blue. Her head is yet a slightly different shade of blue and is opaque.

The body parts of the Ice girl are sculpted to be slightly angled and blocky to appear crystalline. This doll comes with a light blue wig with pink highlights. The wigs for the newest CAMs are a vast improvement over the previous kits. This wig is silky and none of the plastic under structure shows. The Ice Girl is wearing very light frosty pink lipstick and pink and lavender eye shadow. She has purple eyes and blue eyebrows. Her high necked sleeveless dress is mostly black with a pink icicle and snowflake pattern.

The only real complaint I have as far as quality of these dolls is that the elbows on both were extremely stiff, so much that I was very afraid that I might break the joints. My advice is to look on the forearms and see that on one side of the joint there is a small plastic tab and the other side of the joint will be rounded. Bend toward the rounded side away from the tab to loosen the joint. Once I did this the arms loosened up and can now be posed.

If you are looking for some new fun dolls to play with, put together or use as background characters then these are your girls. This starter pack comes with the parts to make two complete dolls, one doll stand and one pair of shoes. Both dolls have interchangeable parts (hands, arms, legs, heads, clothing, wigs) and can be used with other Create-A-Monster Starter Packs and Add-On Packs.

This review is about the Monster High Create a Monster Blob and Ice Set. First off, Blob is really adorable, I love the magenta face coloring, has little sparkles in the plastic and absolutely love the wig. It is a soft plastic, fits her face perfectly and just is the icing on the cake. Her limbs are magenta see thru with sparkles. Her hands have Laguna hands where the fingers are bent. Ice has ice blue see through limbs with a pretty ice blue wig with magenta highlights. These dolls are some of the cutest of the create a monster line. Ice's hands are the straight open fingers. Both have cute dresses, however I'd like to see them do a Create a Monster in pants instead of always dresses. Sometime, o.k. most of the time the dresses are way too short. I like to sit them sometimes and not see all their parts, if you know what I mean. Issues. Everything was good, however, when you place the lower arm on to the upper arm, bend the little rod first. I didn't bend them at first and when I tried to bend her at the elbow, it was a little tight so I took if off and bent it and placed it in again. Now it works better. I just don't want you to have to force it from straight. It was the same on both dolls but they work perfect now. Another issue was the wig for ICE. Her's was a slant bang cut which was pretty awful. I straightened it a little myself with scissors. Now it's better. They are a nice addition to the monster high collection and if you have a little girl who loves pink then Blob is for her. Also to put Blob's wig on you have to bend her head a little, it's o.k., she's plyable.

I have a soft spot for clear monster high parts. The 'wig' feels really funny, like... a toy more for adults. If you know what I mean. Can't say I'm fond of it. The rest of the parts are gorgeous though. One of the better CAM kits, in my humble opinion.

I want this pack badly and my mom is getting me a gift for valentines day but it already passed. I hate when mattel does this. They put the price up really high on a popular product and people still buy it then they lower the price.
