Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program My daughter loves everything Tangled since the movie first came out. For her Birthday in February I bought her the regular Disney Tangled doll, which they ended up pulling from the site due to hair problems and sending us a gift cert because her hair was just that bad. I had promised her another Rapunzel doll and this is that doll; I was lucky enough to get one free for review, she was just delighted. This doll has wonderful hair, that alone more than makes up for Rapunzel #1. It is long and silky and a 5 year old girl's dream to brush and do up. Then their is her beautiful dress and she lights up and plays about 30 seconds of the Lights song from the movie, the part where she sees the Lanterns in the sky she has always wanted to see. It is very clear and sounds just like the singer, but cuts off a little abruptly, no big issue really. All in all this is just a wonderful doll. My daughter would have been thrilled with just the doll herself, so the fact she lights up AND sings is like a double feature bonus for her, this is by far her favorite Barbie now!

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I thought this would be a cool doll. It's definitely not a doll--it's more like an interactive ornament. And maybe that's ok--just not what I thought it would be.

You can't do anything with her. Immovable. She just stands there, with her light-up dress and sings about seven words from the song. That's it. Pretty lights, and a bit of a song. Seems pretty expensive for that. I'm glad to see that some folks have had such a great response to this from their kids.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Lovely doll and from what I've seen so far fairly durable with the exception of the dress BIG mistake decorating the fabric with glitter as it was spewing out of the box and was all over in her hair.

The doll lights up and sings as promises, thankfully she sings only one verse, more than that might drive everyone positively barmy.

This would be a great doll for a six and older child that enjoys combing and creating hair styles, but dis-satisfying for any child that likes playing dress up as the dress is not to be removed. This is in large part due to the sparkly light show the doll provides. As I said before, she is more of a decoration than a toy, which is why I feel that offering her up as a plaything for children as young as three is a bit of a reach.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Tangled is wearing a pretty dress with sparkles that ac-cent-tchu-ate the lighting effects as she sings.

The music is from Walt Disney Records and has excellent sound quality.

But she dosen't offer much educational value or varieties of play.

Interaction with her is limited to pushing her flower or waving her wand

to activate one of her three musical response's.

The wand needs to be with-in an inch of her chest to work.

Then you get a harp intro approx 3 seconds, a different harp 3 seconds,

and an 18 second excerpt of Rapunzel singing "I see the light" from the movie.

It's good that she's made with two ways of activating her music.

Mattel consumer information (their ph# is on the box) say they don't have,

nor does it appear they intend to have any replacement wands.

Tangled is a rigid doll like a Barbie, but only her shoes and crown can be removed,

and her hair is easily tangled. (No pun intended)

Her head, arm's and waist are jointed, but her waist joint is limited, and she can't sit up straight.

When she sits she appears as she's falling backwards,

and her dress won't cover the 4" x 4" wide and 2 1/2" thick box that is her bottom.

The box is for the light's, music and batteries.

Theres a thin material over the box, but that area could have been better disguised.

The bulkyness of the box diminishes the idea of playing with her.

She requires 3 AAA batteries which are included. There isn't any on/off switch.

For these reasons I feel her ability to entertain is quite limited,

and she's best suited for a delightful occasional toy and/or shelf decoration.

The doll can't stand by itself, you'll need to get a doll stand.

She would look nice sitting if she was propped up just right.

Recommended for 3 years and up.

Warning: Small parts included are a choking hazard.

Shoe's, crown and wand.

Time will tell if the Tangled doll will be become another Walt Disney collectable.

Update October 1, 2011, the 3 year old little girl that received this doll for a gift,

approx a week ago, hasn't stopped carrying the doll around even though it's not a cuddly doll.

One educational aspect she's learning is, if she wants to enjoy the magic of the wand,

she needs to keep track of where she puts it.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program My daughter is a teenager, but she loves this movie, and I thought this would be a fun Christmas gift for her since she has also loved and collected Barbies since she was small. This is definitely NOT a Barbie like most others. You can not change her clothes, and her legs do not bend so younger kids may be disappointed in that. I had hoped that it would sing several different phrases from the song "I See the Light," but there is only one ("And at last I see the light, and it's like a fog has lifted."). The wand makes her sing and her dress lights up, but you can also press the star on her dress for the same effect, so if the wand is ever lost, she will still sing. Her hair is soft and very pretty. There is no stand, so if you want to display her, you will have to purchase it separately.

Overall, it seems a bit pricey to me for no more than it does. Disney and Mattel have other versions of the Rapunzel doll that might be a better choice.
