Okay, I bought these in the store today and one of the main reasons I got it is Spike. None of the taller dolls have him with them, and Spike is awesome. C'mon Hasbro, give Spike a home other than this set! I wish it had the other ponies; I was really hoping for Rainbow Dash, but Target didn't have any Rainbow Dash's. I know, you're feeling just as heartbroken as I was. They only had Twilight Sparkle & Pinkie Pie (why so much Pinkie Pie? She's adorable. They should be sold out of her). So I decided to instead get the small 5 character gift set. I give a couple points off for Applejack not getting her hat but Princess Celestia getting her crown (I don't see how the hat would be anymore difficult than the crown at all), and I think they should have made a gift set with all 6; I saw Target had a set of Princess Celestia & Princess Luna for about the same price which I thought was a bit redundant since the figures looked to be the same size.

But I now have Spike :-) I'll be getting the larger versions of the ponies bit by bit. I give the set good marks; the detail is pretty good to great, with very few flaws (Princess Celestia' coloring being one and Applejack's lack of hat). Pinkie Pie looks awesome, though I'm partially biased :-P I'm glad I bought them, and they're fun, You just miss the other 3 when they're all sitting out.

I got this set on Target a few weeks ago and they're very cute and very nice quality. Princess Celestia isn't the correct colors, but that's not a huge deal. They're fairly large and durable so they'd be good for smaller children to play with. They also come with a cute story book that is a shortened version of the first two episodes of the show. I'm hoping they'll release another set of these with the other characters. They left out Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, Rarity and Night Mare Moon so they'd make a good second set. They're releasing some singles of the ponies with brushable hair, but I actually like the molded hair because they look like they do in the cartoon. The only bad point is they are way over-priced on here. They retail for $19.99, so you shouldn't have to pay more than that.

I have recently become a brony and was looking for show-accurate figures of Twilight Sparkle and Pinkie Pie, my two favorite characters. I prefer the molded plastic hair over the regular hair since I have no talent for styling hair, much less nylon pony hair. The only problem is that PRINCESS CELESTIA IS PINK! (I might have to repaint her if I have time.) Other than that this is a great set and I recommend it to all my bronies and pegasisters. *brohoof*

Edit: I have gotten significantly better at pony hairstyling, but this set still remains to be one of my favorites due to that fact that you don't have to worry about messing the hair up. I also forgot to mention that this set contains a small book that is basically the season 1 pilot episodes condensed into 24 pages. Perfect for those times you want to watch the S1 pilot episodes but don't have the 40 minutes to do it.

Honest reviews on My Little Pony Friendship is Magic Gift Set

This household has almost every Pony product available. Several months ago, our now 6 year old paid for this set with her own money, choosing this out of all MLP toys. It quickly became the favorite because of many reasons. Then my now 3 year old absolutely PINED over her sister's set, loving especially Twilight Sparkle. So her older sister chose the set as the little one's birthday present. These Ponies of the younger one have been through EVERYTHING! They are in the pool, travel with us on every car ride big or small, and the Hard Haired Twilight even booted the original Twilight from her Balloon, where she sleeps beside my little one every night. My daughter's 3 year photo session even includes this Twilight Sparkle.

As mentioned by many Bronies and Pegasisters, these toys are very true to the show's characters in looks, compared to the other Ponies with soft hair. (Of course, by now we know that Celestia is not to be pink, Apple Jack is missing her hat, Spike is on all 4's and the Ponies only have one cutie mark. These inconsistencies are so easily accepted by children... although both of my girls recognized these small details.) My 3 year old daughter loves that Twilight has bangs, Pinkie has curls and Apple Jack has a pony tail holder. She reinacts the shows with these Ponies more than the others.

What I love about these Ponies is that I don't have to brush hair! I think that is another big reason my kids like these ones~ no knots and fuzzed hair, no drying time from the water. These ones hold up beautifully. The only thing I noticed is that Twilight's horn's tip has a bit of paint coming off. Not a big deal to us because I am surprised that she has ANY paint left, for what she's endured;) And before we got the Hard Hairs, my daughter overly loved and used the Soft Hairs. Their paint didn't hold up nearly as well, especially on their eyes, due to the different type of plastic used.

My 3 year old's birthday cake had these Ponies featured on it. I am glad we have a second Twilight, just in case our current Twilight disappears forever into the Ever Free Forest...

Like all other FIM fans, I beg Hasbro to make Rainbow Dash, Rarity and Fluttershy to complete this set.

I love the new My Little Pony and watch it with my almost-3-year old. She likes this set with the molded hair better than the brushable ponies, and as an adult fan I like the show-accurate molded hair ponies, too. The hair looks great on these. Spike can sit pretty well on a pony's back, too! These are about the same size as the $5 brushable mane ponies, but I haven't seen any news of a set expansion. (So no matching Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, Luna, etc.) My guess is they are size-compatible with the playsets like the new Pinkie's train, but we don't own any to verify.

Applejack does not come with her hat, which some fans may miss. The cutie marks are on one flank only. If you can't tell from the pics, these are not poseable, but I don't think any MLP toys are. Oh, and Celestia is pink instead of white. They are probably rated for ages 3+, but as a mom I'll tell you that there don't seem to be any small parts, so I don't worry when my 1 year old son plays with them. My daughter's favorite is definitely Applejack, and my son's appears to be Pinkie Pie.
