I haven't removed the doll from the box, but I can tell there are things that I like and things that I don't like. What I like is the straight limbs and torso--since it's for a younger child, it will be easier to dress. Also, there are not a lot of little accessories to lose or break: shoes look sturdy-ish and easy to put on, skirt seems easy. What I don't like is the weird Barbie-mullet hair, the super-pointed toes, and that the sparkly bodice of the "dress" is fused onto the doll (not a real dress, just a skirt). It will be difficult to cover up the glitter with other clothing if there's any kind of open neckline at all. Since our gift recipient is young, it might not matter to her (that's why I chose a "princess" doll with glitter to begin with). As she gets a little older, if the doll lasts that long, it might be annoying. It also would be excellent if Mattel would make a more moderate foot that doesn't look like Barbie will have bunions by the time she's 30. But since we like the doll's color, face, and body shape, I'll probably keep her.

The doll is lovely. I bought it for a friend's four-year-old. I believe that the doll is sturdy and will provide hours of imaginative play.
