This is a really cool doll. I will start with the coolest part first. When you press a button on her tummy, her head and torso are illuminated and she makes the classic electrical sound that everyone associates with Frankenstein. It is basically two loud buzzes. The effect is awesome, I just wish it lasted a little longer. I find myself slightly addicted to pressing the button so I can see it again. The detailing is amazing. When her face and torso illuminate you can see the outline of her bones, including her ribs and spine on her torso, and even the outline of her teeth on her face...so awesome!! To be able to show this, her head is made of a very hard plastic (not the usual soft vinyl) that has paint layered over it. Because of this her makeup appears a little chalky looking, but it is still okay. Also, the doll I got has a few scratches through the green paint on her face, and when she lights up you can see the light seeping through the scratches. It's not horrible but I wish I had gotten one with no flaws. As far as the rest of her body, she obviously has the button on her stomach to activate the effect. This may be visible if you changed her clothes and put her in a different fashion. Each of her legs (on the thighs) contains a battery compartment so you can replace them, the one on the left leg being slightly larger than the right. Her bolts are clear this time and light up as well. Her clothing is similar to first release Frankie with a few minor changes. This version looks more like she is wearing a white shirt and plaid skirt (where first edition Frankie looked more like a dress). Her tie is much shorter, her earrings are translucent blue plastic, and her bangs are pulled to the side instead of straight back. Her belt and shoes are the exact same as first edition Frankie. There is a strange line molded in the plastic of her head, most of her hair covers it up but on my doll you can see it very clearly on the right side of her head by her ear. Also her face is a little bit different shaped than a regular Frankie. It is a little flatter and her jaw is less angular. I imaging this is due to the different kind of plastic being used. For her makeup, her eyes are the exact same as Frankie #1, but her lips are a much brighter cherry red (first edition frankies are darker, more like maroon). Her stitches are silver only, they don't have the black outline like most Frankies do. She also comes with a stand and it is really cool. The base is a black plastic skullette, and the bar part is clear and is the kind that you place between the dolls legs, not around her waist. She doesn't come with any other accessories. No brush, no pet, no diary, no purse. Overall this doll is unbeatable. Both the concept, and the way they executed it are beyond compare. Really other than the minor paint flaw I mentioned I have nothing bad to say about this doll. Can't wait to get my claws on the other ghouls alive girls!!

This doll is a novelty version of Frankie Stein made to show off her "most iconic moment". Frankie is the daughter of Frankenstein's Monster and his Bride. Her body parts are stitched together (and sometime fly or fall off due to her clumsiness) and she absorbs and discharges electricity. When a button on the abdomen of this doll is pressed her features are activated. For about 2-3 seconds Frankie glows and flashes with "electricity" and her skull and chest are illuminated showing her bones like an x-ray. She also makes and an electric snapping tesla coil sound. The effect is very cool; I couldn't stop pushing the button that starts the effect. One very nice detail is that the bolts on the side of her neck are transparent and glow very brightly.

This doll looks like classic Frankie, red lipstick, different colored eyes, metallic stitching and scars. She is wearing a black, blue and silver plaid dress similar to the Wave 1 Basic Collection doll.

I am a doll collector and will not be taking her out of the box because she displays very nicely in the box which features some great artwork. The box has an opening marked "try me" and speaker vents so her abilities can be tested without removing her from it. The box says she comes with 3 AG13 button cell batteries and it is my understanding that the batteries can be changed.

This is novelty doll, and a lot of these kind of gimmicks tend to get old very quickly but she definitely has appeal for collectors. I will be curious to hear how she is received by young collectors and their parents.

The correct name for this edition of Monster High Dolls is Ghoul's Alive!

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I love all the Monster High dolls. Creepy but cool, they are more 'me' than Barbie. I have been wanting to add them to my doll collection

I received Frankie Stein "Ghouls Alive" from the Vine program. Frankie is the daughter of Frankenstein and his bride. A pretty doll without looking overly garish. She has on a t shirt and plaid skirt, with side parted duocolor hair.

I wasn't sure what to expect when I ordered it but the description pales in comparison (no pun intended) to the doll in action. You press on her abdomen, her face and torso lights up showing her rip cage and you hear the electric buzz 'stttzzz sttzzz stzzz" noise. AWESOME!!! I did not notice any of the defects others reported, perhaps there was a 'bad batch' of dolls that got out. I'm very happy with this one

The noise may be annoying to parents, but your kids will love it! I don't know if there is much difference in makeup/hair/clothing between this version and the other versions of Frankie available. But the novelty factor of the light up head/ribcage alone is enough to add it to your doll collection. I will be buying the other two dolls now because I liked this one so much.

Honest reviews on Monster High It's Alive Frankie Stein Doll

This version of Frankie is cute like all the others. The noise she makes I guess it's supposed to sound like electrocution?? seems to fit w/ the "ghouls alive" thing. However, her head is very rigid and won't turn. Her body won't go into many poses at all and so she's not as fun to play w/ for my kid as the other monster high dolls (which are normal, no special effects). This ghouls alive Frankie is just ok...we're going to get a regular Frankie eventually.

The doll was for my granddaughter's birthday and she just loved it. It seemed to be made well and with no difficult parts to put together.
