My daughter received this as a Christmas present from our close friends and she absolutely loves the doll and the book! Yes, the dolls are prohibitively expensive, but my friend was actually able to get the doll and paperback book for less than what is stated here. It pays to shop around for the best prices. Rebecca Rubin is an interesting character for a doll she is Jewish in origin and I found it refreshing because my daughter was able to learn about Rebecca's Jewish heritage and also the festival she celebrates which is Hanukkah, something my daughter was unfamiliar with (she is almost 5 years old). The doll itself is of great quality the plastic is durable and not as skimpy in design as some of the Barbie dolls I believe you get what you pay for, and the quality of the doll here is very good. Rebecca has a beautiful outfit in burgundy with nicely-detailed boots, pantaloons, and black tights all of which can be removed easily. There are many accessories that can be purchased separately for the doll, including play sets. The paperback book that comes with this doll gives interesting details about Rebecca's Jewish heritage and her life, and would be a wonderful book to read together with a young child, or for an independent reader to enjoy. Judging by my daughter's reaction, she will love this doll for a long time to come (and I plan to preserve it for her as a collectible too).

The doll and dragon are both really cute, but the doll's hair looks better in the photo than in reality. That can pretty much be said of all the dolls purchased from Mattel, however. The photos should be more accurate so as not to disappoint customers, but the company is so obsessive with the packaging of their dolls that curls are flattened out, straight hair is crimped by stitching and glittery strands are snagged and ruined (as in the Monster High Cleo De Nile doll.) They have not acted on complaints in this area because they believe extremely secure packaging is more important that having their dolls look as appealing as depicted. I think it's more "overkill" than "securely packaged" but that's the way they're going to keep doing it.

These fairy dolls are cute little additions to the Barbie Charm School movie. The dolls has movable legs and arms but they aren't pivotal so they don't pose. A small plastic holder attaches to the dragon to keep her "riding" it. The doll has blue brushable real hair. The dragon has sparkly skin that my 8 year old really likes. Some of that sparkly stuff does occasionally come off on hands.

The little jewel wings on the dragon can be clipped onto either the fairy or the dragon.

Keep in mind that these are the little fairiy assistants in the movie so they are very small. Less than half the size of a barbie doll.

Cheap Barbie Fashionistas - Raquelle Doll

I had a Fashionista doll where the head is replaceable but what I liked was all the various "points of articulation" (as they call it). I like to pose my dolls and take pictures and these dolls make that very easy and wonderful. I was expecting the same thing with this Raquelle Doll. I found her quite beautiful. When I removed her clothes I discovered she had a movable ribcage! This is what they mean by "12 points of articulation". Knees, hips (4). Wrists, elbows, shoulders (10). Neck and upper chest (12). It means she can lean a bit left and right with hand on hip in a coquettish attitude.

This is an extra attraction for me as an adult collector but it must be fun fun fun for children! I found her hair to be especially soft and luxurious. It's black with nice fuchsia streaks. She doesn't have any earrings but I sometimes find those annoying if they clash with a new outfit. The outfit she did come with is wonderful. A very unusual collar on the fitted satin blouse. Very sexy 'fake' leather pants and spectacular shoes. The shoes have sparkles embedded in the plastic. They are so well designed that they don't even look like plastic except up close. The bags these days are my least favorite part of the dolls because they are just chunks of plastic but this one is designed like a keyboard with the black and white piano keys so it is at least clever and cute.

I purchased the African American one from another store since Amazon didn't offer it. My two year old thinks that it's her baby. It is very cute and I like that there isn't a lot of parts that come with it since she is so young. I don't know if it's just our doll or the design of all of them, but my daughter has a hard time putting the pacifer and/or bottle in the doll's mouth because you have to push a little hard to make it click in.

Lovely shade of deep purple, this corduroy dress is adorable. Each piece is made with high quality materials. The only thing I was disappointed in are the flowers on the dress. The small ones are hardly noticeable as flowers, more like dots. Overall, I would recommend this outfit. Could easily be used for a newborn baby, the quality is that good. I love it on my Molly P.
