Pretty dress, but the orange bow and trim doesn't match. I bought this dress for my 17" Shirley Temple doll from the 1950's. I felt the design of the dress and the fabric was reminiscent of the 1950's. While the dress was too big (American Girl dolls are fatter than Shirley Temple), I took it in and it fits nicely. I also removed the orange bow and trim, replacing it with a black and white polka dot ribbon trim and no bow. The dress was very well made and I am sure it would look lovely on an American Girl doll.
