Summer is a gorgeous doll. Her hair is unlike any other barbie hair i have felt before: it is fine and silky. It is also crimped, and streaked with copper, and very shiny. Her face is very pretty and realistic. Her clothes I also like. She comes with a khaki halter top with a hawaiian flower applique on it, stone coloured shorts which come to just below her knees, and a really cool cream cardi with nice knitted detail which doesn't come up in the Amazon photo. She also wears green slip-on sneakers.The ear-piercing idea is a good one in my opinion, and it has been carried out well. The ear piercer is simple to use and she comes with a vast assortment of earrings, both studa and dangles. The reason I give this product a 4 for durability is because the earrings themselves are thin plastic and coould snap if roughly handled. They sometimes bend a little when pushing them into the piercer, but if careful, you can easily avoid them breaking.
Summer also comes with a sturdy plastic stool as pictured. All in all this is a great doll and really fun. She also has the newer body structure which was first featured in the 'Jewel girl' barbies.

Although Summer comes with an ear piercing kit, don't give it to your child without first piercing the ears for the earring changes. I use a seam ripper to puncture the plastic and clean out a large enough hole for dolly earrings.She is a fun teenage doll with flat feet for tennis shoes and going barefoot. Cali Girls and Boys are casual and cute.
The price range makes this an excellent toy for a child who will find it fun to change earrings and clothes on her new dolly.
