Great high quality doll for a reasonable price. Clothing is very detailed and well made. Glass eyes and complexion of doll is very nice. Theses are smaller than your typical American Girl Doll, but a great size for young girls to play with. The manufacture also makes different outfits to change the dolls into. I love the wholesome age appropriate look of these dolls for my daughter. They also provide a great teaching point for learing about different culture and giving back to others.

I haven't posted a review on a Amazon in a while... but this is such a beautiful doll and I'm sure the little girl I'm giving it too will love it! The collection seems to like a cheaper version of the American Girl dolls... with the exception that their stories/experiences come from around the world. The dolls come with a little booklet that tells a little bit about their family and culture(a nice conversation starter for those of you who wish to educate your children about foreign cultures/countries in an age appropriate way!).
The doll's story also talks a lot about showing compassion to those in need(also a good lesson for youngsters!), for instance Consuelo's family owns a bakery and she wants to help create a program to feed those who are hungry in her city. It also has an access code to a websitewhich teaches kids more about their doll's culture/story.
The doll is great and comes in modern/colorful clothing... the hair is also beautiful and seems to be saturated in a tangle-free hair straightener(which I hope won't wear off with play) and has beautiful jewelry, a nice headband that features a flower(so far that's managed to stay on very well).
My only complaint would be that the hairband for the doll is too small-it's the size of the doll's wrist which is cute but a little impractical and is sure to cause some frustration for little girls who like to braid their doll's hair, etc. Another complaint would be the doll is on the slim side which will make it difficult to find other doll clothing that will fit well... maybe Playmates Toy Co. will hopefully come out with additional culturally appropriate clothing for the dolls-eventually.
I'm thrilled a portion of the proceeds go to World Vision... which continually receives superior ratings from charity watchdog groups and continues to receive the highest rating possible on Charity Navigator(a independent charity review site).Overall if your on the fence about the buying the dollI would say buy the doll! Part of the money goes to a great cause, the doll is beautiful, the doll's story can teach your kids some wonderful lessons about Mexico and Central/South Americaand most importantly the doll teaches kids about the joy that comes from helping those in need!

My daughter was so excited to receive the beautiful Consuelo! We had seen her in reviews online and knew she was so pretty, but she is even more in person.
I personally loved her story about how her family runs a Mexican bakery (my favorite!) and she helps give the leftovers to the poor children.
The Hearts 4 Hearts dolls are really good examples to my girls, and I'm so glad they made such lovely and inspiring dolls!

Hearts For Hearts Girls Consuelo's Folklorico Dance Dress Set
My 5 year old grandaughter asked Santa Claus for an American Girl Doll for Christmas but my son was not in favor for a variety of reasons. So, I ordered a Hearts for Hearts doll as one of her Christmas gifts. It turned out that her Daddy changed his mind and Santa left an AGD under the tree and she was happy. However, when our grandaughter and her Mama and Daddy got to our house to open gifts, she was every bit as happy to find Santa had left Consuelo and a Dance Dress Set under our tree. She keeps both dolls on the dresser in her room, sleeps with them each and every night and plays with them together. This year, the theme for my Christmas gifts to my grandaughter was multi-cultural diversity. I ordered maps, books, dolls, toys, games, and puzzles from Amazon.com to promote diversity and encourage a worldview. Consuelo fit the bill. She represents Mexico, has hair that can be combed and arranged, jewlery, clothes, and most importantly a story that tells of her charitable efforts to feed hungry children in her Mexican town. There are 4 other dolls representing other cultures and countries with stories of how others benefit from the generosity of real life girls and their families from around the world. I was impressed with the packaging. Lovely. The additional clothing, purchased separately, was a plus. I intend to purchase other dolls from the HFH collection. The dolls are inexpensive and certainly less prohibitive than the other doll I mentioned. It's a no brainer. I could not be happier with Hearts for Hearts girl dolls and would recommend to others.

My 7-year-old daughter bought this doll for herself with money she had saved. She loves her! The doll is well made, with very soft, brushable hair. For the money, her quality is excellent, although her joints are a little looser than more expensive dolls (the ones that cost $100+), and her hair is rooted rather than a wig. Her clothes and accessories seem durable, and my daughter loves that she has earrings, bracelets, and a headband.
The best part of the doll is the web site. My daughter loved going online and learning about the real Consuelo, who convinced her mother to open a restaurant next to their bakery for street children; they feed them milk and left-over stock from the bakery. This story has helped my daughter start thinking of ways she can help children, and she's proud that part of the money she paid for the doll goes to World Vision to help other children around the world. The web site also has some games, which my daughter enjoyed.
The only real downside for me is that no one is publishing sewing patterns for dolls this size. The closest I have found are available from Liberty Jane patterns; their "Ellowyne" doll patterns seem about this size, although too long.
